The Minnesota Renaissance Festival offers an immersive, curriculum‑enhancing experience that transports guests into a fully realized 16th‑century European village ruled by King Henry and his royal court. Founded in 1971, the Festival has grown into one of the largest Renaissance festivals in the United States, welcoming more than 300,000 visitors annually to its permanent site in Shakopee, Minnesota.

Students, educators, and corporate groups experience living history through scheduled performances, live armored combat jousting, interactive characters, and hands‑on artisan demonstrations including glass blowing, printing, candle making, music, and visual arts. Through themed weekends, engaging performances, and dozens of educational and family‑friendly activities included with admission, the Festival supports learning in history, theater, craftsmanship, and cultural studies.
