DESCRIPTION:The Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center is hosting Escape the Bong VIII (8)\, from February 13 to 15. Escape the Bong 8 is a three- day event that features multiple escape rooms that will test your deduction and puzzle-solving skills. Each room is designed for an hour of problem-solving fun along with a unique mission and experience. A new game will begin at the top of each hour. A maximum of ten people per game\, but smaller groups may be combined to fill out a group of 10.Thursday is a Media sneak peek day. Friday through Sunday are open for reservations and walk-ins! Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for those 12 years and under per game.The event will run from 9 am to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday\, and from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sunday. The final set of games begin at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 6:00 pm on Sunday. With the extended weekend hours\, guests 21 years and older can purchase a cold beer or glass of wine beginning at 5 pm Friday and Noon Saturday and Sunday to go along with their escape room experience. \n\n\n\nSneak Preview Room on Ice Fest Weekend\, January 30th and 31st\, when we will feature “Creepy Deer Camp” a thirty-minute escape room challenge and escape room event sneak preview! $12 per person and all players will receive $5 off all escape rooms during Escape the Bong 8! After your trek\, warm up with hot beverages at the Nature Center. Dress for the weather\, bring your sense of adventure\, and join us for an unforgettable night on the trailsBring your own skis/snowshoes or rent ours. The event is free\, however if you need to rent skis/snowshoes the cost is $8 per adult and $2 per child. The rentals will be in the Interpretive Center back classroom.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to play music in the historic Turnblad Mansion? Now’s your chance! Bring your nyckelharpa\, hardingfele\, fiddle\, or any acoustic instrument to ASI’s Open Nordic Jam. This jam is open to musicians of any level who want to learn and play Nordic folk. Bring your friends or plan to make new ones here! \n\n\n\nMinnesota has long been known for its rich music scenes—in part due to the many immigrant diasporas that have established themselves in the area. From Nisswa-stämman to the Nordic Roots festival\, to the countless house jams across the state\, Nordic folk music is an important part of Minnesota’s musical identity. Whether you’re a master fiddler or want to learn more about folk music\, this monthly gathering is for you! \n\n\n\nThis jam is facilitated by ASI staff\, but tunes are selected each time by musicians in the room. We will play standards and originals inspired by Swedish\, Norwegian\, Finnish\, Danish\, and Icelandic folk traditions. While many musicians may bring traditional instruments\, all acoustic instrumentalists are welcome to participate. If you do not play an instrument\, you can still attend if you respectfully observe and listen. Dancing is encouraged but not required—see you there! \n\n\n\nNo registration required\, attendees must purchase museum admission. Free for performers. \n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Open Nordic Jam Series
