Plan a trip to Glensheen in 2025! Located on 12 acres along Lake Superior in Duluth, this 39 room mansion offers exquisite interior design features like intricate woodwork, marble fireplaces, and much more.

Glensheen, the historic home of Chester and Clara Congdon in Duluth, is a Minnesota gem! Bring your group to explore the mansion and grounds for an unforgettable experience. In a world full of manufactured experiences, we have very few opportunities to fully immerse ourselves in authenticity. Glensheen offers one of those rare chances. Come see why Glensheen Mansion, perched on the shore of Lake Superior, is the most visited historic home in Minnesota. Our 12-acre estate features gardens, bridges, and the famous 39-room mansion built with remarkable 20th-century craftsmanship, telling the story of the Duluth region.

Groups of all ages will enjoy a tour. I-Spy activities, which are great for student groups, are rotated seasonally in the mansion to encourage guests to look around at different room features. After exploring the mansion, stroll the grounds including the Formal Garden or walk along the lakeshore and skip a rock or two. In every season, there is something wonderous to see at Glensheen!

Self-guided and guided tour options are available for groups. Guided tours are dependent on staff availability. Planners should account for a minimum of 90 minutes for self-guided tours and 2 hours for guided tours to ensure all guests have a chance to explore the grounds and visit our museum shop. We can accommodate on-site bus parking. There is no elevator in the mansion so guests must be able to climb stairs to reach the 2nd floor or higher. Accessible entrances are available on the main floor and basement levels.
