Stages Theatre Company is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Shrek The Musical, bringing the beloved story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage in a high-energy, heartwarming theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the book by William Steig, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning musical that celebrates individuality, friendship, and the idea that “true love comes in all shapes and sizes.” Featuring a dynamic score by Jeanine Tesori and witty, heartfelt lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, the production follows Shrek, a grumpy yet lovable ogre, as he embarks on an unexpected journey alongside a fast-talking Donkey, a fiercely independent Princess Fiona, and a cast of fairytale misfits.
Stages Theatre Company continues its tradition of producing professional-caliber performances that inspire imagination and creativity. The production will feature vibrant costumes, imaginative sets, and beloved musical numbers including “I’m a Believer,” “Freak Flag,” and “Big Bright Beautiful World.”
