Sang Yoon Kim Plays Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto
April 30 @ 7:00 pm – May 3 @ 5:00 pm
Approximate length 1:26
SPCO Principal Clarinet Sang Yoon Kim performs one of the most beloved pieces in classical music, finished just weeks before Mozart’s death and often referred to as the composer’s swan song. In this concerto, the clarinet embodies different characters in dialogue with each other, leaping from the instrument’s deepest registers to its brightest, much like the human voice. Just as in Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 67, there is a delightful, airy sense of humor, charm and buoyancy that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
