AMERICAN SWEDISH INSTITUTE | There’s Still Time for Tomte Tales!

There’s still time to experience Tomte Tales: Legends of Winter, ASI’s 75th Annual Holiday Exhibition. Explore the castle with Tomte and all his friends, shop the ASI Museum Store, and have a bite to eat at FIKA Café.

The American Swedish Institute (ASI) invites visitors to its 75th annual holiday celebration, Tomte Tales: Legends of Winter, on view through January 25. This beloved Minnesota tradition invites guests to explore Nordic-inspired programs, experience the holiday exhibition in the historic Turnblad Mansion, savor seasonal food, and shop the ASI Jul Store and one of the region’s largest holiday handcraft markets. Keep the magic of the holiday season going with a visit to ASI.

This year, the Turnblad Mansion transforms into a storybook winter wonderland—guided by Tomte himself, building upon Tomte’s debut in ASI’s 2024-2025 holiday exhibition. Guests will experience Tomte’s story and see the season through his eyes, meeting his friends along the way and uncovering the folklore behind animal companions, Lucia, Krampus, the Julbock, Santa, reindeer, and more.

“This holiday season at ASI has been really special,” said Joe Imholte, Vice President of Experience at ASI. “We are delighted to keep bringing holiday magic to families, friends, ASI members, and first-time visitors through January this season. January is the perfect time to enjoy a quieter experience, connect with community, and create cherished memories.”
